Statement:
Twelve Breakfasts is a self-portrait series and typological study of morning routine. The process consists of twelve days of breakfasts documented on a 35mm camera.
Ada Smith (born 1990) is an American artist and photographer based in Texas. Smith creates elliptical works that intersect photography and performance. Smith questions the notion of authorship and seeks the poetic sensibilities of art making through intuitive processes. With photography and video, Smith imbues the viewership experience with a kindred sense for what is local and immutable in life.
Ada is an undergraduate of Studio Art with an emphasis on Photography at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is currently living and working in Marfa, Texas.
