Artist Statement
In this oil pastel drawing, I rendered my postpartum body on a piece of black cotton paper which keeps the image in a darker tone as the figure is swallowing into the darkness. This drawing is the documentation of a personal battle of PPD (postpartum depression) that I have overcome.
