Overflowing Trash

Medium: Oil on Canvas Board
Date: 2020
Dimensions: 6″ x 4″

Dan Maxwell

Statement:
Whenever I see an overflowing trash can, I think about responsibility. Social leftovers have always fascinated me. I’m curious as to what compels us to neatly pile trash in an over-encumbered receptacle. A full trash can serves as a visual representation of a well-traveled public space. It embodies our tendency to suggest order.
