The Lionel Rombach Gallery presents Day by Day; a solo exhibition by Lauren C. Steinert. Through abstract embroideries Steinert’s work presents a glimpse into her daily experiences in Covid isolation.

The artists birthday, March 12, coincided with the timing of COVID-19 shutdown which compelled her to create daily embroideries to document the world she witnessed every day. Through abstracting her surroundings utilizing form, color, and texture, Steinert reimagines her mental and physical state of being through thread. Each embroidery hoop is a portal into a moment in Steinert’s day. The conglomeration of embroideries document a vast array of memories and simultaneously serve as a calendar.

Lauren C. Steinert received a Bachelor of Science and Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in printmaking and glass-working along with Bachelor degree’s in Environmental Science and German. She is currently completing an MFA in Studio Art within the Printmaking Area at the University of Arizona. She currently works as the Printmaking Technician for the University of Arizona and is a Glassblowing Assistant at the Sonoran Glass School in Tucson, Arizona.
