Statement:

I built an organic shaped ceramic sculpture as like a stalactic column. As I sprayed sand-colored glaze, some parts were glazed a little thick, while others were painted a little lighter. This allowed the natural texture of the rock to be expressed. Looking at this piece makes me feel as if it is staring at me. Even though the human face is not carved, the form itself seems to be staring at me. Just looking at me without saying anything makes me feel at peace and comfort. I’ll continue making more organic shaped sculptures and want to see what kind of feeling it will bring to me.
